Kumeu Show I

We arrived just in time for the goats' prizegiving and then nipped backstage to see some of the other animals relaxing after their trips down the catwalk...

Ag Day

We went to our first ever Ag(ricultural) Day this morning at the local primary school.

Alongside the rather non-traditional bungee-bouncer, there was a coconut shy and a haunted house in one of the classrooms. The pupils paraded around showing their pet lambs, calves and kids and we enjoyed a (happy pig) ham roll and crepes with lemon curd.

Down on the Farm

After touring the convent yesterday, we headed over to the city farm on the banks of the River Yarra which the nuns used to run in order to sustain their 1000-strong community.

The peacocks kept us entertained and then I had a go at milking this cow... She didn't seem to mind my amateurish attempts too much.
