Mt Taranaki

(I think I post a variation on this shot every time I fly to Wellington but it's one of my favourite views in NZ.)

Clouds

We had stunning weather for our week away in Queenstown but it was cloudy and atmospheric for the flight back to Auckland. We had some fantastic views of the Southern Alps, dotted with snow and swamped with clouds.

You can see more of my snaps from the plane in my NZ from the air album and I'll endeavour to post some shots of Queenstown over the next few days.

Mount Taranaki 2

When I flew over Mount Taranaki again a few weeks later, it had its first dusting of snow.

Mount Taranaki 1

I saw this remarkable cloud winging its way around Mount Taranaki from an early morning flight to Wellington a few weeks ago.

Sea and Sky

This is a view that I'll be enjoying twice a week for the next few months as I make my way to and from Wellington. Trying not to think of my carbon footprint...

Golden Bay and Farewell Spit

A flying visit to Christchurch today brought some fantastic views from the plane on the way home.

No snow left down south.
