Lake House Arts Centre 1
We had a bit of time to kill last Sunday and so dropped into the Lake House Arts Centre to see their Whakakinatanga (adornment or embellishment) exhibition.
I was quite taken by how this piece of weaving toned so well with the Victorian fireplace - two constrasting traditions of craftmanship.

Penguins on Parade
School terms starts today and, by coincidence I go back to work after my year off. In anticipation of this momentous day, we had a little holiday treat a few weeks back with a trip to Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World.
First stop was the penguins who were being fed just as we arrived.
Apparently the keepers have to be very careful not to feed any of the
penguins twice because there are vitamin tablets concealed in the fish.

Sunday Sunshine
This Sunday afternoon is wet and wintry but last Sunday afternoon was gorgeous. We recreated our usual Sunday afternoon in London with a drink at a riverside pub. There weren't as many boats and there were certainly no skyscrapers but it was a lovely setting nevertheless.
